Brewers Post Strong Preliminary Session On Day Two Of Liberty League Championship

Wiener, McLaughlin to swim in ‘A’ final of 200-yard freestyle

Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Women's Swimming and Diving team continued the 2026 Liberty League Championship with a strong showing in Thursday's preliminary session. The Brewers saw eight qualify for the Thursday Finals session including Addie Wiener (Maplewood, NJ) and Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO) who will swim in the 'A' final of the 200-yard freestyle.

Coming off her fourth straight conference championship in the 500-yard freestyle on Wednesday, Wiener was fourth fastest in 200-yard freestyle qualifying, posting a time of 1:54.75.
Joining Wiener in the 'A' final of the 200-yard freestyle is fellow senior McLaughlin who qualified seventh with a time of 1:56.10.
Rounding out a trio of Brewers who qualified for the 200-yard freestyle finals is Lilly Masters (Bloomfield Village, MI) who will compete in the 'B' final after qualifying 14^th in a time of 1:59.52.
Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA) led three Brewers to make it back for the finals in the 100-yard butterfly, posting the ninth fastest qualifying time of 58.62 seconds.
First Year Abigail Ford (Califon, NJ) and senior Stephanie Norris (Santa Barbara, CA) will join Li in the 'B' final of the event after posting preliminary times of 59.21 and 1:01.15, good for 10^th and 14^th spots.
Vassar saw two qualify for the final in the 400-yard individual medley with Izzy Holmes (New York, NY) qualifying 10^th Stella Petersen (Hockessin, DE) coming home 12^th.
Both swimmers touched out in personal best times with marks of 4:51.05 and 4:51.96, respectively.
Hunter Harris (East Thetford, VT) also recorded a personal best time on Thursday, finishing the 100-yard butterfly in 1:14.09.
