Eleven Brewers Qualify For Wednesday’s Final Program At Liberty League Championship

Wiener, Hoagland in ‘A’ final of 500-yard freestyle

Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Women's Swimming and Diving team opened the 2026 Liberty League Championship with 11 swimmers qualifying for the finals session on the first day of events. Addie Wiener (Maplewood, NJ) and Quinn Hoagland (Colts Neck, NJ) will both compete in the 'A' final of the 500-yard freestyle Wednesday night.

Wiener will go for her fourth straight league title in the 500-yard freestyle Wednesday night after qualifying second Wednesday with a preliminary time of 5:08.15.
Hoagland joins Wiener in the top final after being fifth quickest in qualifying with a time of 5:12.82.
First Year Stella Petersen (Hockessin, DE) swam into the 'B' final for the Brewers in the 500-yard freestyle, qualifying 16^th on Wednesday. Petersen's time of 5:25.00 is better than three seconds faster than her previous personal best in the event.
Fellow First Year Izzy Holmes (New York, NY) was the top Vassar qualifier in the 200-yard individual medley with a nearly two second improvement to her personal best. Holmes will swim in the 'B' final of the IM after posting a preliminary time of 2:17.25.
Senior Stephanie Norris (Santa Barbara, CA) was 17^th quickest in the 200-yard individual medley Wednesday morning and will compete in the 'C' final after posting a time of 2:18.64.
Junior Lara Chebotarev (East Longmeadow, MA) qualified 21^st in the 200-yard individual medley, earning a spot in the 'C' final after swimming a time of 2:19.90 Wednesday morning.
Vassar saw five swimmers move through to the finals in the 50-yard freestyle, led by Abigail Ford (Califon, NJ), Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO) and Clare Baker (Lafayette, CA) who will compete in the 'B' final Wednesday night.
Ford and Baker each posted personal best times in the event with marks of 24.47 and 24.87.
McLaughlin finished 13^th in the preliminary session with a time of 24.55.
First Year Alaina Desautels (Arlington, VA) and senior Lilly Masters (Bloomfield Village, MI) will compete in the 'C' final Wednesday night after touching out in times of 25.19 and 25.22 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle.
