Vassar Off To Strong Start At Liberty League Championship

Nine Brewers qualify for Wednesday night finals session

Ithaca, NY – The Vassar College Men's Swimming and Diving team is off to a strong start at the 2026 Liberty League Championship that opened with preliminary swims Wednesday morning. Nine Brewers will return to the finals session Wednesday night with seven Vassar swimmers posting personal best times.

For The Brewers

Sam Deluca (Mifflinburg, PA) and Eli House (Oneonta, NY) each qualified for the 'B" final in the 50-yard freestyle.
Deluca posted a personal best time of 21.91 seconds, good for 14^th quickest Wednesday morning, with House touching out in 22.10 seconds, the 15^th best qualifying time.
John Gao (Ann Arbor, MI) was one of four Brewers to swim into the 'C' final Wednesday night, qualifying 18^th in a personal best time of 22.26 seconds.
Senior Daniel Wang (Carlisle, MA) and junior Daniel Furman (Secaucus, NJ) will also swim in the 'C' final of the 50-yard freestyle after recording times of 22.63 and 23.27 seconds.
First Year Vuk Usina (Tallahassee, FL) swam a personal best time of 22.64 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle and will swim in the 'C' final Wednesday night.
In the 200-yard individual medley, First Year Kieran Lakhan (Kensington, MD) led the way for Vassar with a time of 2:00.82. Lakhan will compete in the 'C' final of the event after qualifying 21^st.
Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA) will also swim in the 'C' final of the 200-yard individual medley after being 22^nd quickest in the preliminaries with a time of 1:01.14.
Robin Auwaerter (Syracuse, NY) posted a personal best swim in the 200-yard individual medley, shaving .09 off the previous mark with a swim of 2:08.52 on Wednesday.
First Year Jack Powers (Amherst, NY) is the lone Brewer through to the finals in the 500-yard freestyle. Powers will swim in the 'C' final Wednesday night after taking better than a second off his previous personal best time with a mark of 4:52.76.
Laszlo Lawless (Monterrey Bay, CA) took two-and-a-half seconds off his personal best time in the 500-yard freestyle with a swim of 5:12.58 on Wednesday.

Wednesday's finals session is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
