Men’s Tennis Begins Spring Season Saturday Afternoon Against Manhattanville

Brewers kick-off spring with two straight home matches

Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's Tennis plays the first of two straight home matches to open the spring schedule Saturday afternoon when it welcomes Manhattanville to Walker Field House. Live Video will be available for the 3:00 p.m. match for those unable to attend.

Vassar starts the spring after taking part in the Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational and the ITA Northeast Regional Championship in the fall.

A Look At The Brewers

Bauermeister and Lee highlight a talented core of returning players for the Brewers.
Bauermeister posted a 9-8 record playing out of the top singles flight as a junior in 2025.
Lee went 10-7 in singles play for the Brewers a spring ago, including an 8-5 mark at the second slot.
Playing as the top doubles pair, Bauermeister and Lee totaled eight wins and were 5-1 against league rivals.
Also returning as a senior after missing last season due to injury is Nolan Kubiak (Oregon, WI). During the 2024 spring season, Kubiak posted a 5-2 record in singles matches and added eight more victories in doubles play.
Pedro Cattaruzzi (Chatham, NJ) returns after securing nine doubles victories last spring, including a 6-2 record at the third position.
Miles Sondergaard Jensen (Newton, MA) secured two doubles victories teamed at the second slot in 2025.
Sophomore Joaquin Gil (Brooklyn, NY) was tied for second on the team in singles wins a spring ago, going 10-6 out of the sixth flight on his way to being named Liberty League Rookie of the Week once.
Vassar features a talented group of newcomers for the 2025-26 season with 10 First Years looking to crack the lineup.
Junchen Jia (Vail, AZ) was named Liberty League Rookie of the Week on September 29 after posting his first career victory against Haverford.
Shrey Choudhary (Farmington, CT), Avery Frekhtman (Woodmere, NY), Trevor Hajek (Denver, CO), Alfonso Infante (Makati, Philippines), Ian Karoly (Los Angeles, CA), Maximus Martin (El Paso, TX), Sanjay Rajkumar (Olathe, KS), Jonas Santos (Las Vegas, NV) and Ryan Truta (Rye, NY) will also look to make an impact for the Brewers starting Saturday.

The Schedule

After hosting the Valiants on Saturday, Vassar will remain at home on February 28 for a non-conference match with Nichols.
Following the first road match of the spring, a visit to MIT on March 7, the Brewers will travel south to the USTA National Campus in Orlando, FL for matches March 11-19.
Upon return from the Sunshine State, Vassar begins Liberty League play with a visit to Ithaca on March 29.
Vassar will also pay visits to league rivals RIT (4/18), Hobart (4/19) and RPI (4/26).
Home league matches include contests against St. Lawrence (4/4), Union (4/5), Bard (4/11) and Skidmore (4/25).
Vassar will visit the United States Coast Guard Academy on April 12 in its final non-conference match of the season.
