Rochester, NY – The Vassar College Men's Soccer team played the middle game of a three-game road swing on Saturday afternoon, falling on the road at RIT, 3-1. Senior
Mauricio Mejia (Miami, FL) tallied his first goal of the season for the Brewers.
Following Saturday's result, Vassar falls to 3-5-2 overall and 1-1-1 in conference play, while RIT improves 3-4-3 overall and 1-1-2 against league rivals.
How It Happened
- Vassar jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Mejia finished off a feed from classmate Koray Tekin (Winter Park, FL) just under 10 minutes into the contest.
- The Tigers came back with the equalizer nearly three minutes later when Robin Giesing knotted the score at 1-1 at the 12:16 mark of the contest.
- With the score tied 1-1 at halftime, RIT held a 7-5 advantage in shots and took the only corner kick of the opening 45 minutes.
- Senior Jacob Raphan (Oceanside, NY) turned aside three shots prior to halftime for the Brewers.
- The game stayed deadlocked until the 72nd minute when Tate Pottle scored what proved to be the game winning goal at the 71:21 mark.
- Idriss Diallo gave the Tigers an insurance goal 4:02 after the Pottle marker to close out the scoring in the contest.
- Vassar held a 7-4 advantage in shots after halftime and a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.
- RIT netminder Kristian Dobbek made a pair of stops in the second frame for the Tigers.
For The Brewers
- Mejia tallied for the first time in 2026 and is now fourth on the team in points with three.
- Tekin picked up his first point of the season with a helper on the Brewers' lone tally.
- Zapp Hotz (Ridgewood, NY) led Vassar with four shots on the afternoon.

- Giesing and Diallo each scored their first goals of the season for the Tigers.
- Pottle tallied for the second time and finished with the game winning goal.
