Men Victorious, Women Place Second On Senior Day

Vassar honors 11 seniors prior to final home meet

Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams hosted a successful Senior Day meet on Saturday with the Men winning and the Women placing second at the 2026 Vassar Sprint Invitational. The men won the event with a score of 540 points with the women posting 466 points.
 
Prior to the meet the programs honored their 11 seniors before Robin Auwaerter (Syracuse, NY), Sam Deluca (Mifflinburg, PA), James Hatch (Los Altos, CA), Ricky Kurosawa (Las Vegas, NV), Daniel Wang (Carlisle, MA), Hunter Harris (East Thetford, VT), Quinn Hoagland (Colts Neck, NJ), Lilly Masters (Bloomfield Village, MI), Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO), Stephanie Norris (Santa Barbara, CA) and Addie Wiener (Maplewood, NJ) swam in their final career home meet.
 
For The Brewers – Men's Results
  • The Brewers topped second-place Hartwick by 84 points.
  • The Brewers took the top three positions in the 50-yard backstroke with John Gao (Ann Arbor, MI) winning the event in a time of 25.52 seconds. Deluca and Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA) following in second and third with times of 25.63 and 26.16 seconds.
  • Gao added a victory in the 100-yard backstroke (54.66) and a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (23.13).
  • Deluca was victorious in the 50-yard butterfly (23.63) for the Brewers.
  • Eli House (Oneonta, NY) had a strong meet for Vassar, winning the 50-yard freestyle (22.32) and placing second in the 50-yard breaststroke (27.65).
  • Seiss took the top spot for Vassar in the 100-yard individual medley (56.02) and added a runner-up finish in the 100-yard butterfly (54.67).
  • Kieran Lakhan (Kensington, MD) touched out second for Vassar in the 100-yard individual medley (56.06) and the 50-yard butterfly (25.11) and added a third-place showing in the 50-yard breaststroke (27.95).
  • Kurosawa was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.11) and was fourth for the Brewers in the 50-yard breaststroke (28.12).
  • Jack Powers (Amherst, NY) raced to a second-place finish on Saturday in the 500-yard freestyle (4:53.92).
  • Elam Estella (Colorado Springs, CO) in the 100-yard butterfly and Jacob Collette (Milford, CT) in the 100-yard freestyle each scored third-place finishes for the Brewers.
  • Auwaerter scored a seventh-place finish for Vassar in the 500-yard freestyle.
  • Wang was fifth for Vassar in the 50-yard freestyle event.
  • Vassar won both relay events on Saturday, with the 200-yard medley team of Gao, Lakhan, Deluca and House winning the opening event in 1:38.14.
  • The 200-yard freestyle team of Deluca, Seiss, Wang and House was victorious in a time of 1:30.36.
 
For The Brewers – Women's Results
  • Skidmore won the women's team event with a score of 585.
  • Wiener won a pair of events for Vassar on Saturday, taking both the 500-yard freestyle (5:18.55) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.88).
  • McLaughlin scored a win for the Brewers in the 50-yard freestyle (25.37) and was second in the 100-yard freestyle (55.38).
  • First Year Abigail Ford (Califon, NJ) swam to a first-place finish in the 100-yard individual medley (1:02.03) and closed a strong meet with a runner-up finish in the 50-yard freestyle (25.54) and a third-place swim in the 100-yard freestyle (55.57).
  • Izzy Holmes (New York, NY) posted a runner-up finish in the 400-yard individual medley (4:53.13) and added a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.91).
  • Clare Baker (Lafayette, CA) touched out second for the Brewers in the 50-yard backstroke (29.25) and was third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.54).
  • Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA) posted a runner-up finish for Vassar in the 50-yard butterfly (28.20).
  • Lara Chebotarev (East Longmeadow, MA) earned a second-place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke (33.50) and was fourth in both the 100-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke.
  • Hoagland was fourth for Vassar in the 500-yard freestyle (5:33.74).
  • Norris swam to a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (29.08).
  • Masters posted a sixth-place finish for the Brewers in the 50-yard freestyle (26.48).
  • Harris earned an 18th-place finish for the Brewers on Saturday in the 100-yard freestyle.
  • Vassar opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Baker, Ford, Li and McLaughlin posted a time of 1:52.08.
  • The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Wiener, Norris, McLaughlin and Hoagland finished the meet with a second-place time of 1:45.11.
 
What's Next
  • Vassar is off from competition until it opens the Liberty League Championship on February 18.
