Lindsey Shoulders (Glen Allen, VA) has been named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week in Women's Basketball for the sixth time this season it was revealed Monday afternoon.
Shoulders, in the midst of a standout season for the Brewers, was good for 11.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in a 1-1 Liberty League weekend. Shoulders converted at 39.1-percent (9-for-23) from the field over the two games and 71.4-percent (5-for-7) from the free-throw line while adding and assist and a steal.
After scoring six points and adding an assist and a steal on Friday in a road loss at RIT, Shoulders came back with 17 points and nine rebounds in a tough 54-52 road win at Union on Saturday. Shoulders went 7-for-16 from the floor against the Garnet Chargers and 3-for-5 from the free-throw line.
Through 13 games, Shoulders leads the Brewers with 7.5 rebounds per game and is tied for the team lead in field goal percentage, converting at 45.1-percent. Shoulders is second on the team in scoring with 12.5 tallies per outing.
Among the conference leaders, Shoulders is fifth in rebounding average and paces the league with 3.6 offensive rebounds per game. Shoulders ranks sixth in the conference in scoring average.
At 6-7 overall and 5-1 in Liberty League play, Vassar continues the conference schedule at Skidmore on Tuesday.
