Brewers Compete At Trinity (CT) In First Meet Of 2026

Lakhan victorious in 100-yard breaststroke

Hartford, CT – The Vassar College Men's Swimming and Diving team opened the New Year on Tuesday afternoon at Trinity (CT), falling to the Bantams 224-61. First Year Kieran Lakhan (Kensington, MD) scored a win for the Brewers in the 100-yard breaststroke and added two other runner-up finishes for Vassar.

Tuesday's defeat moves Vassar's record in dual meets to 2-5 on the season.

Lakhan topped the field in the 100-yard breaststroke on Tuesday with a time of 1:01.38 and added second-place swims in both the 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.39) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:04.34).
First Year Elam Estella (Colorado Springs, CO) finished second for Vassar in the 200-yard butterfly with a season-best time (2:05.14).
Eli House (Oneonta, NY) turned in a strong meet on Tuesday with a runner-up finish in the 50-yard freestyle (22.30) to go along with a fourth-place swim in the 100-yard freestyle (51.35).
In the distance freestyle events, First Year Jack Powers (Amherst, NY) placed third in the 1,000-yard event (10:38.19) and fourth in the 500-yard race (5:18.32).
Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA) earned a third-place finish for Vassar in the 200-yard backstroke (2:06.24) and added a fifth-place showing in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.55).
Ricky Kurosawa (Las Vegas, NV) swam to a third-place finish for Vassar in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.71).
James Hatch (Los Altos, CA) turned in a pair of fourth-place finishes on Tuesday, touching out in 59.82 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke and 2:10.20 in the 200-yard backstroke.
Sam Deluca (Mifflinburg, PA) had a strong showing in the 100-yard butterfly with a fourth-place finish (54.80).
Daniel Furman (Secaucus, NJ) in the 100-yard backstroke, Robin Auwaerter (Syracuse, NY) in the 200-yard backstroke and Jacob Collette (Milford, CT) in the 500-yard freestyle all posted fifth-place finishes.
Vassar opened the day with a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with the team of Seiss, Lakhan, Deluca and House swimming to a time of 1:39.90, including a 21.97 second anchor leg from House.
To close the day, the team of Deluca, Seiss, Collette and House posted a fourth-place time of 3:30.65 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Vassar travels to Union on January 24.
Trinity hosts Wesleyan on Thursday.
