Troy, NY – For the fifth time this season, Vassar College Women's Basketball First Year Lindsey Shoulders (Glen Allen, VA) has been named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week it was announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
 
Shoulders helped lead Vassar to conference wins over Clarkson and St. Lawrence on the weekend after averaging 12.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game and converting at a 47.1-percent (8-for-17) clip from the field.
 
Shoulders opened the second conference weekend of the season with 10 points and six rebounds on Friday in a 61-40 triumph over Clarkson. To round out the weekend, Shoulders posted her fourth double-double of the season, totaling 15 points and 10 rebounds as the Brewers topped St. Lawrence 70-58.
 
Through 11 games as a rookie, Shoulders leads the Brewers in rebounding (7.9), is tied for the team lead in field goal percentage (46.2) and ranks second in scoring (12.7). Among the Liberty League leaders, Shoulders is fourth in rebounding average and leads the league with just over four offensive caroms per game. Shoulders is third in the conference in field goal percentage and sits seventh in scoring average.
 
Winners of two straight games, Vassar stands at 5-6 overall on the season and a perfect 4-0 against Liberty League rivals. Next up for the Brewers is a trip to RIT on Friday.
