Troy, NY – Following the first competition of the fall, the Vassar College Men's Tennis team saw three student-athletes honored with Liberty League Weekly Awards. First Year Jason Jia (Vail, AZ) has been named the league's Rookie of the Week, while Eugene Lee (Chico, CA) and Jonas Santos (Las Vegas, NV) were tabbed the Doubles Team of the Week.
 
Jia picked up his first collegiate victory over the weekend at the Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational, scoring a hard fought 6-3, 7-6 (4) win on Saturday afternoon against the host Fords.
 
Lee and Santos teamed together for a pair of victories over the weekend. The duo scored a tight 8-6 victory against Stevens to begin play on Saturday and closed the weekend outlasting their opponents from Hamilton by a score of 8-7 (7-4).
 
The Brewers will continue the fall season when it takes part in the ITA Northeast Regional starting October 3.
