Jacob Raphan (Oceanside, NY) has been named the Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week in Men's Soccer it was announced Monday afternoon. The honor is the first for Raphan this season and the third of his career.
Raphan helped lead Vassar to a 1-0-1 week, earning his first shutout of the season while making five saves and working to a 0.50 goals against average and an .833 save percentage.
Raphan began the week with a clean sheet in a 1-0 win against Springfield on Tuesday, making a trio of saves, and closed the week with a pair of stops in a 1-1 draw on Saturday at #21 Ithaca.
Through play over the weekend, Raphan ranks ninth in the Liberty League in save percentage and 10
th in the conference in goals against average.
At 4-2-2 overall and 0-0-1 in Liberty League play, Vassar continues the league slate on Wednesday when it plays host to Bard.
