Men's Track and Field Posts Strong Showing at NYU DIII Invite

Finnimore sets personal best in weight throw, multiple others record new career-bests

New York, NY - The Vassar College Men's Track and Field returned to action on Saturday at the NYU DIII Invite at the Armory as the Brewers had numerous personal-bests set throughout the day.

60 Meters
  • First year Ryan Fernandes collected a top-35 finish with a time of 7.49 and was followed closely by junior Jacob Sellitti in 7.52.
  • Senior Max Bergman crossed the finish line in the second 60m race with a time of 7.65.
60 Meter Hurdles
  • Senior Jae Young Seo earned a 20th place finish with a time of 9.21.
200 Meters
  • Fernandes also posted top-40 finish with a mark of 24.36 while Selitti finished right behind with a season-best time of 24.40.
800 Meters
  • Sophomore Sean Miller scored a second place finish with a time of 1:56.02 along with senior Jose Magana finishing 18th in 2:00.81.
  • Senior Nick Redstone tallied a 20th place finish in 2:01.18 while classmate Tim Buchan earned a top-30 finish with a time of 2:05.42.
Mile
  • Buchan led the way with a seventh place finish in a season-best time of 4:23.16 followed by sophomore Max Frazee scoring a 10th place finish in a personal-best time of 4:26.33.
  • Senior Levi Lilienthal also posted a personal-best time of 4:27.81 for 13th place along with senior Jackson Bernreuter finishing 15th in a career-best mark of 4:28.36.
  • Senior Jason Cirrito also recorded a career-best time of 4:29.56 for an 18th place finish while senior Kai Chang was in the top-40 in a time of 4:45.05.
  • Senior Mikhail Medina closed the Vassar finishers with a season-best time of 4:58.81 for a top-50 finish.
3000 Meters
  • First year Zeke DeMercurio crossed the finish line in 9:59.76 for a top-35 finish.
4x400 Relay
  • The team of Bergman, sophomore Joshua Garraway, Magana and Miller finished 11th overall in 3:34.69 while the relay of Redstone, Buchan, Bernreuter and Frazee scored a top-20 finish with a time of 3:34.69.
Pole Vault
  • Bergman competed in the pole vault for the Brewers.
Shot Put
  • Sophomore Adam Finnimore earned a 25th place finish with a toss of 11.17 meters.
Weight Throw
  • Finnimore recorded a personal-best throw of 11.31 meters for a 22nd place finish.
Up Next
  • Vassar will travel to Army for the West Point Tune-Up next Saturday, February 22.
