Women’s Swimming And Diving Edged At Skidmore

Brewers win nine events on Saturday

Saratoga Springs, NY – The Vassar College Women's Swimming and Diving team was back in action on Saturday, dropping a tight 153-141 decision at Skidmore. Anna Little (North Huntingdon, PA) and Addie Wiener (Maplewood, NJ) each posted a pair of wins for Vassar in the meet.
 
Saturday's defeat drops Vassar to 3-2 overall on the season.
 
For The Brewers
  • Little continued to impress in the breaststroke events for the Brewers, taking the top spot in the 100-yard (1:09.63) and 200-yard (2:32.88) events on Saturday.
  • Little closed a big day with a runner-up finish in the 400-yard individual medley (4:50.24) in the first swim of the season in the event.
  • Wiener also scored a pair of wins for the Brewers on Saturday, topping the field in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:13.87) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.47).
  • Quinn Hoagland (Colts Neck, NJ) scored a first-place finish for Vassar in the 200-yard backstroke (2:14.66) and added a second-place swim on Saturday in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:20.21).
  • Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA) turned in a strong meet for the Brewers, winning the 200-yard butterfly (2:13.76) and adding a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.10).
  • First Year Abigail Ford (Califon, NJ) took first-place for Vassar in the 50-yard freestyle (25.13) and scored runner-up finishes on Saturday in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.51) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.05).
  • Senior Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO) was the winner in the 100-yard freestyle (55.17) and turned in a third-place showing in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.63).
  • Izzy Holmes (New York, NY) swam to a runner-up finish for the Brewers in the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.79).
  • Clare Baker (Lafayette, CA) in the 100-yard backstroke and Alaina Desautels (Arlington, VA) in the 50-yard freestyle each picked up third-place finishes for the Brewers.
  • In diving, First Year Graciela Leahy (Columbus, OH) was third off both the 1-meter (141.00) and 3-meter (103.88) boards.
  • Vassar closed Saturday's meet with a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay with the team of McLaughlin, Hoagland, Wiener and Ford finishing in 3:43.34.
  • The 200-yard medley relay team of Baker, Little, Li and McLaughlin opened the meet with a second-place swim, showing a time of 1:54.35.

  • Vassar returns to action at Kresge Pool on November 15 when it hosts RPI.
