Lindsey Shoulders (Glen Allen, VA) has been named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week in Women's Basketball it was announced Monday afternoon. Monday's honor is the first career award for Shoulders and the first for the Brewers this season.
In Vassar's only game of the week, A convincing 66-30 victory over Misericordia on Saturday, Shoulders posted her first career double-double. Shoulders went 5-for-9 from the floor on her way to a career-high 12 points against the Cougars. Shoulders added a career-high 13 rebounds in the contest, including seven on the offensive glass. Closing out a big day in the win, Shoulders added an assist, a blocked shot and a pair of steals.
Through play on November 23, Shoulders ranks fourth in the Liberty League in rebounding average with an even 10.0 caroms per contest, including a league leading 6.0 offensive boards per game.
Through two contests, Shoulders is averaging a double-double with 10.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game while shooting 60.0-percent from the field.
At 1-1 overall on the season, Vassar returns to action on November 29 when it heads across the Hudson to take on Mount Saint Mary.
