Gianna Panarelli (Jensen Beach, FL) earned her third straight Offensive Performer of the Week Award,
Ava Holman (St. Louis, MO) claimed her fifth Rookie of the Week honor and senior
Lindsey Nihei (Honolulu, HI) picked up her second Defensive Performer of the Week citation.
Panarelli sent Vassar to the Liberty League Championship Final when she potted her ninth goal of the season just 20 seconds into overtime on Friday against Ithaca. Friday's goal gives Panarelli nine tallies, including four game winners, and 21 points on the season to date. Panarelli's goal and point total rank tied for third and third in the conference, respectively.
Holman continued a standout rookie season with her team leading 10
th goal of the year, the game winner in the Liberty League Championship Final. Holman scored her team leading fifth game winning goal late in the first half against RIT on Sunday, moving into the team lead in goals and points, into second in the conference in both categories and into a share for the league lead in deciding goals.
Nihei was named the Liberty League Championship Most Outstanding Performer after playing 181 minutes over two games and anchoring a defense that allowed no goals and just 22 shot attempts.
At 16-3 overall, Vassar will take on Mary Washington in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.
