Field Hockey Heads to #18 Williams for NCAA Championship First Round

Liberty League Champions will square off with the Ephs at 6:00 p.m.

Poughkeepsie, NY - Coming off the third Liberty League title in program history, the Vassar College Field Hockey team heads to #18 Williams on Wednesday evening for a 2025 NCAA Championship First Round matchup at Williamson Field at 6:00 p.m.

A Look at the Brewers
  • Vassar enters the NCAA Tournament at 13-6 overall and went 5-2 in Liberty League play to earn the top seed in the conference championship and defeated second-seeded Union, 4-2, in the title game on Sunday.
  • This marks the third conference championship for the Brewers and the first conference crown since 2021.
  • Offensively, the Brewers are led by seven double-digit point getters with sophomore Zoe Robinson recording a team-high 13 goals and 27 points and also had five game-winning goals.
  • Junior Karina Hoffman, who was named the Liberty League Championship Most Outstanding Performer, ranks second on the team in goals with 10 and points with 25 while leading the team in assists with five.
  • Senior captain Sofia Beseth is third on the team in goals with seven, second on the squad in assists with four and third in points with 18.
  • First year Sophia Jammar and classmate Julia Morris are tied for fourth on the team in points with 13.
  • Sophomore Mackenzie Allen and first year Sierra Chow round out the double-digit point scorers with 11.
  • Senior Gianna Hoover leads the team in defensive saves with five while junior Anna Hazewindus and sophomore Sophie Rosenblum have each registered a defensive save.
  • Junior Grace Wiley has started all 19 games in goal for the Brewers and has posted a goals against average of 1.07 while making 55 saves for a save percentage of .743.
Scouting the Ephs
  • Williams begins the NCAA Tournament with an 8-8 overall record and 6-4 in the NESCAC. The Ephs have played 11 nationally ranked schools this season and have earned three nationally ranked victories.
  • Kiki Higgins leads the Ephs on offense as she leads the team in goals with 12, assists with five and points with 29.
  • Claire Colvin is second on the team in goals with six and points with 15 while Pilar Torres has tallied four goals and four assists for 12 points.
  • Anna Miller has added three goals while Sawyer Rowland, McKenna Dwyer, Haley McAuslin and Laura Ryan have each registered two goals.
  • Torres and Grace Rebak have recorded a defensive save each.
  • Ellie Smith has started all 16 games for Williams as she has posted a goals against average of 1.02 while making 68 saves for a save percentage of .800.

  • Vassar will be making its third NCAA appearance and have lost 2-1 in both NCAA Tournament games in its history.
