Troy, NY - The Liberty League announced its weekly award winners for the week ending October 26 as Vassar College Field Hockey junior goalkeeper
Grace Wiley was named the league's Defensive Performer of the Week along with first year forward
Sophia Jammar earning Rookie of the Week honors.
Vassar improved its record to 9-6 overall and 4-2 in conference play with a convincing 5-1 victory over St. Lawrence at home on Saturday with Wiley making two saves in the contest. The victory was Wiley's ninth of the season in net for the Brewers and she ranks third in the league in goals against average at 1.16 and has now been named the league's Defensive Performer of the Week twice.
Jammar earns her second weekly award of the season after scoring her sixth goal of the season in the victory over the Saints on Saturday. The first year currently ranks tied for second on the squad in goals with six and is third on the team in points with 12.
Vassar (9-6, 4-2 LL) plays its final regular season home game and its final Liberty League regular season game against RPI (8-7, 2-4 LL) on Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. with a chance to finish tied for first in the regular season standings.
