Troy, NY - The Liberty League announced its weekly award winners for field hockey on Monday afternoon as Vassar College Field Hockey senior
Gianna Hoover was named the Defensive Performer of the Week along with first year
Julia Morris earning Rookie of the Week honors.
Vassar improved its conference record to 3-0 and has now won three straight games following a 6-0 road victory over Skidmore on Saturday. Hoover recorded her second defensive save of the season to help preserve the shutout in the second quarter and currently ranks tied for sixth in Vassar history in defensive saves.
Morris, who earned her second Rookie of the Week citation, scored two goals in the win over the Thoroughbreds and now ranks third on the team in goals with five and points with 13.Â
Vassar (8-4, 3-0 LL) returns to action this weekend with a conference battle against Rochester on the road on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
