Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams each picked up a victory over Union Friday evening on Senior Day in the final home meet of the season. The Men's team, who recognized
Hayden Ehrenfeld (Long Beach, CA) and
Tyler Tsukuda (Rancho Cucamonga, CA), scored a 179-90 victory over the Garnet Chargers, while the Women's team, who celebrated
Maya Luongo (Katonah, NY) , scored a 156-108 triumph.
Friday's win moves Vassar's Men's squad to 3-5 overall on the season, while the Women's team improves to 4-5 on the year.
For The Brewers – Women's Meet
- In the final home meet of a successful career, Luongo won both the 50-yard (25.30) and 100-yard (55.96) freestyle races for the Brewers on Friday.
- Junior Addie Wiener (Maplewood, NJ) also scored a pair of wins against the Garnet Chargers, besting the field in the 1,000-yard (11:12.15) and 500-yard freestyle (5:21.45) events. Wiener also collected a third-place finish for Vassar in the 50-yard freestyle (26.09).
- Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA) continued a strong sophomore campaign on Friday with victories in the 200-yard butterfly (2:11.61) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:18.54). Li also placed second for the Brewers in the 200-yard individual medley (2:19.03).
- Fellow sophomore Anna Little (Irwin, PA) took the top spot for the Brewers in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:32.39) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:18.37) and scored a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.20).
- Quinn Hoagland (Colts Neck, NJ) turned in a strong meet with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.28) and a runner-up finish in the 100-yard freestyle (58.21).
- Lara Chebotarev (East Longmeadow, MA) topped the field on Friday in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.53).
- Stephanie Norris (Santa Barbara, CA) was the top finisher on Friday in the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.13).
- First Year Tia Spivey (Gate City, VA) was the runner-up on Friday in both the 1,000-yard (12:10.97) and 500-yard freestyle (5:44.43) races.
- Fellow rookie Eva D'Addario (Baltimore, MD) turned in a strong third-place swim for Vassar in the 200-yard butterfly (2:23.93).
- The relay events were also a strong point for the Brewers on Friday with Vassar taking first in the 400-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle races.
- The team of Hoagland, Little, Li and Luongo topped the field to open the meet with a medley time of 4:09.57.
- The freestyle team of Luongo, Hoagland, Wiener and Spivey closed the night with a winning time of 1:43.84.
For The Brewers – Men's Meet
- Ehrenfeld put together a strong meet in the final swim at Kresge Pool on Friday, winning the 50-yard freestyle in a speedy 21.63 and taking third in the 100-yard freestyle (51.15).
- Likewise, Tsukuda turned in a strong meet with a third-place swim in the 200-yard butterfly (2:12.43) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:19.56).
- First Year Andrew Song (Welleslley, MA) won a trio of events for the Brewers, topping the field in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.74), the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.00) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.71).
- Lucas Jauregui (Barrington, RI) won the 100-yard backstroke (54.49) for the Brewers and came home second in the 100-yard butterfly (54.51).
- John Gao posted a victory for Vassar in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.70) and also finished third in the 100-yard butterfly (54.71).
- Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA) was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.02) and added runner-up finishes in both the 500-yard freestyle (5:11.20) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:09.18).
- Eli House (Oneonta, NY) took the top spot for the Brewers in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.83) and earlier in the meet scored a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.55).
- Robin Auwaerter (Syracuse, NY) turned in a gutsy, season-best swim for the Brewers in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:09.50).
- Jacob Collette (Milford, CT) touched out second for Vassar in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.39) and took third-place in the 500-yard freestyle (5:15.22.).
- Mike Seaton (Hoboken, NJ) was the runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle (50.22) and took third-place in the 50-yard freestyle (22.43).
- James Hatch (Los Altos, CA) scored a second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.98).
- Noah Rich (Dover, NH) came home third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.27).
- In diving, Alex Graber (Harrison, NY) earned first-place points off the 1-meter board with a score of 120.97.
- Vassar topped the field in both relay events on the night with the 400-yard medley team winning the first event of the meet by nearly five seconds. The team of Jauregui, Gao, Seaton and Ehrenfeld posted a time of 3:37.42.
- To round out the victory, the quartet of Seaton, Jauregui, Gao and Ehrenfeld took the 200-yard freestyle event with a time of 1:28.27.

- Vassar is back in the pool on February 1 when it takes part in the Skidmore Sprint Invitational.
