Vassar Has Strong Showing At Division II Pace

Li wins three events

Pleasantville, NY – The Vassar College Women's Swimming and Diving team put together a strong meet on Friday at Division II Pace, dropping a hard fought 147-123 decision to the Setters. The Brewers won nine events on the night, including two each from Maya Luongo (Katonah, NY), Anna Little (Irwin, PA) and Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA).

Friday's decision drops Vassar to 3-5 on the season in dual meet competition.

For The Brewers

Luongo had a strong night for the Brewers in the sprint freestyle events, winning both the 50-yard (25.80) and 100-yard events (55.41).
Little took the top position for Vassar on Friday in both the 200-yard butterfly (2:19.41) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:31.90).
Li continued a strong season for the Brewers with victories in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.97) and the 100-yard butterfly (59.32). Li also turned in a runner-up swim in the 200-yard individual medley on Friday (2:18.96).
Junior Quinn Hoagland (Colts Neck, NJ) swam to a victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:33.34) and added a second-place swim in the 200-yard backstroke (2:18.90).
Fellow junior Addie Wiener (Maplewood, NJ) was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.17) and earned a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:21.66).
Sophomore Lara Chebotarev (East Longmeadow, MA) scored a pair of runner-up finishes on Friday for the Brewers, taking second in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.54) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:38.33).
First Year Eva D'Addario (Baltimore, MD) had a strong meet on Friday for Vassar, placing third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:30.34) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:59.82).
Vassar's 200-yard medley relay team of Luongo, Little, Li and Wiener opened the meet with a victory, posting a time of 1:55.02.
To close the meet, Vassar's 200-yard freestyle squad of Wiener, Hoagland, Little and Luongo placed second with a time of 1:45.67.
