POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - This weekend both Vassar teams are on the road. The men are headed to Hofstra University on Saturday, while the women are going to Stony Brook University on Sunday. It's time to determine the best 7-a-side teams in the Conference!
We have two talented squads that will challenge strongly for each title. The men are led by
Olly Skeet Browning who had a wonderful outing last weekend, scoring 7 tries as Vassar dispatched Bard and Oneonta. The men also have
TJ Usher and
Kaiden Tocher who have proved a real handful for opponents and good speed with
Kiran Mullen and
Nigel Trenh.
The women will be captained by
Zoe Lynch and the speedsters are
Danny White and
Leah Dourmashkin. The team has a nice balance with
Mette McKinney and
Lauren Showalter up front with
Maddie Sumrow and
Jude Robinson being line break threats. This weekend will likely see the return to Vassar Rugby colors of
Yasmeen Kassem-Scott who has been out due to injury since last spring. Add in a few of the first year students and it's like a Dunkin chocolate frosted with sprinkles!
The programs for each event with all the details of the Championships are attached but suffice to know that on Saturday the men play in Pool B at 10:20 am, 11:40 am and 1:00 pm with Drew University, Montclair State and Maritime College respectively. The semi-finals are at 2:40 pm and the Final at 4:00 pm.
The women play in Pool B at 10:40 am, 11:40 am, 1:40 pm & 2:40 pm against Rutgers University, TCNJ, Montclair State and Fairfield respectively. The semi-finals are at 3:40 pm and the Final at 4:40 pm.

Alumnae Rugby Matches 2024
Finally, another reminder that the Alum games are just around the corner and will be played on SUNDAY APRIL 21st, 2024 with an 11:00 am Women's battle followed by the VC Men taking on the past at 12:00 noon. Big Pink will be in the house!
