Geneva, NY – The Vassar College Women's Lacrosse team closed out the 2024 season on Saturday with a 24-3 loss at #7 William Smith. Sophomore

Emilia DiLiberto (Allison Park, PA) led the scoring attack with two points apiece for the Brewers.
Saturday's loss ends Vassar's season at 3-12 overall and 2-8 in Liberty League play, while the Herons enter the Liberty League Championship at 15-2 overall and 9-1 in conference action.
How It Happened
- William Smith jumped out to a 4-0 lead with four goals over the first nine-and-a-half minutes of the opening frame. Natalie Daniels tallied twice over the run, including her 50th goal of the season.
- Billings got the Brewers on the board at the 3:50 mark of the first period, finishing off a feed from Reilly Mulcahy (Arlington, VA).
- The Herons answered with the final four goals off the quarter, in the last 2:35, to open an 8-1 lead after 15 minutes.
- William Smith pushed its run to seven goals and opened an 11-1 lead on a Molly Davis tally with 9:40 left before halftime.
- Billings cashed in her second goal of the game to halt the spurt, tallying off a feed from DiLiberto at the 7:48 mark.
- The Herons responded again with the last three goals of the half to carry a 14-2 advantage into the intermission.
- William Smith outshot Vassar 22-6 over the first 30 minutes and won 13 of the 18 draw controls in the first half.
- The Herons allowed just one goal after the break, a DiLiberto tally at the 8:45 mark of the third quarter.
- William Smith went on to outscore the Brewers 5-1 in the third frame and 5-0 in the fourth period to close out the victory.
For The Brewers
- Billings finishes the year with a team-high 24 goals and a team best 32 points and added a draw control on Saturday.
- DiLiberto rounds out her rookie season with a goal and an assist to go along with seven draw controls and a groundball.

For The Herons
- Allie McGinty closed a big day with nine points, scoring three times and assisting on six other goals.
- Emily Griffin scored three times and recorded a trio of assists.
- Daniels and Maddie Montgomery each finished with four goals and five points.
- In addition to a five-point day, Montgomery picked up three groundballs and won a game-high nine draw controls.
- Delaney Cassidy won three draws and caused a turnover.
- Maura Smeader picked up the win in goal with a pair of saves in 51 minutes of work.
