Men’s Swimming And Diving Competes Against Skidmore

Jauregui, Song win individual events for Vassar

Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's Swimming and Diving team closed out a three-meet homestand on Saturday with a 192-92 loss to visiting Skidmore. Lucas Jauregui (Barrington, RI) and First Year Andrew Song (Wellesley, MA) each won individual events for the Brewers.
 
Saturday's loss drops Vassar to 1-3 overall on the season through four dual meets.
 
For The Brewers
  • Jauregui finished a strong meet with a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (52.14) and added a runner-up finish in the 100-yard butterfly (53.34).
  • Song continued a strong start to his Vassar career with a win for the Brewers in the 200-yard backstroke (1:59.34). Song placed second for Vassar in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:33.11) and rounded out his individual day with a third-place showing in the 200-yard individual medley (2:06.72).
  • First Year Eli House (Oneonta, NY) posted runner-up finishes for the Brewers in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.74) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.37).
  • Senior Hayden Ehrenfeld (Long Beach, CA) swam to a second-place finish for the Brewers in the 50-yard freestyle (22.37).
  • Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA) finished third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.73) and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (5:09.05).
  • John Gao claimed a second-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley (2:05.36) and added a third-place showing in the 100-yard backstroke (55.90).
  • Tyler Tsukuda (Ranco Cucamonga, CA) touched out third for the Brewers in the 200-yard butterfly (2:13.20).
  • First Year Mike Seaton (Hoboken, NJ) finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (49.77) and third in the 50-yard freestyle (22.37).
  • In 1-meter diving, Alex Graber (Harrison, NY) earned second-place points with a score of 134.93.
  • Vassar finished second in both relays that were contested on Saturday. The 200-yard medley relay team of Gao, House, Jauregui and Ehrenfeld touched out in a time of 1:38.74.
  • To close the meet, the Vassar quartet of Jauregui, Ehrenfeld, House and Seaton posted a time of 3:18.08.
What's Next
  • Vassar will hit the road for the second time this season on November 16 when it travels to RPI.
