Vassar Hosts Montclair State

Brewers win four events

Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Women's Swimming and Diving team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday evening following a 175-109 defeat by visiting Montclair State. The Brewers won four events in the meet, including a pair of victories from sophomore Vivien Li (Pittsburgh, PA).

Friday's loss drops Vassar to 2-1 overall on the season.

For The Brewers

Li led the way for Vassar with victories on Friday in the 200-yard butterfly (2:11.32) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:12.95).
Sophomore Anna Little (Irwin, PA) topped the field in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.52) and added a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.19).
Maleigha Vietti (Overland Park, KS) bested the field for the Brewers in the 500-yard freestyle on Friday (5:26.66) and finished a strong meet with a third-place showing in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.01).
Abigail McLaughlin (Denver, CO) swam to a runner-up finish on Friday in the 100-yard freestyle (54.86) and added a third-place showing in the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:04.54).
Maya Luongo (Katonah, NY) touched out third in the 100-yard freestyle (56.83) and earned fourth-place points for the Brewers in the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.80).
First Year Tia Spivey (Gate City, VA) finished fourth for Vassar in the 50-yard freestyle (27.21) and took third-place in the 500-yard freestyle (5:41.68).
Fellow First Year Eva D'Addario (Baltimore, MD) scored a pair of third-place finishes for Vassar, posting a time of 2:26.35 in the 200-yard butterfly and a time of 1:07.74 in the 100-yard butterfly.
Lilly Masters (Bloomfield Village, MI) finished fourth for the Brewers in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:03.45) and the 100-yard freestyle (57.31).
In diving, Caroline Griem (Brooklyn, NY) took third-place in both rounds of the 1-meter diving event, posting scores of 116.35 and 142.95.
The Brewers opened the evening with a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with the team of Li, Lara Chebotarev (East Longmeadow, MA), Little and Luongo combining for a time of 1:55.69.
