Men’s Swimming And Diving Competes Against Montclair State

Jauregui, Song win individual events

Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Swimming and Diving team hosted its second straight home meet Friday evening, falling at Kresge Pool to visiting Montclair State by a score of 181-104. Sophomore Lucas Jauregui (Barrington, RI) and First Year Andrew Song (Wellesley, MA) picked up individual wins for the Brewers in the meet.
 
Friday's loss drops Vassar to 1-2 overall on the season through three dual meets.
 
For The Brewers
  • Jauregui scored a victory for Vassar in the 100-yard backstroke on Friday, posting a time of 53.04 seconds.
  • Song earned a victory for the Brewers in the 200-yard backstroke, topping the field in a time of 2:00.18.
  • Senior Hayden Ehrenfeld (Long Beach, CA) earned a runner-up finish on Friday in the 50-yard freestyle (22.13) and added a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (50.55).
  • Alex Graber (Harrison, NY) took second in both rounds of 1-meter diving on Friday, earning scores of 85.60 and 107.55. In the pool, Graber swam to a fourth-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:37.07).
  • First Year John Gao turned in a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (54.84).
  • First Year Logan Seiss (Downingtown, PA) swam to a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.74) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:10.62).
  • Eli House (Oneonta, NY) took the third position in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.40) and placed fourth for the Brewers in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.86).
  • Tyler Tsukuda (Ranco Cucamonga, CA) turned in a strong swim in the 200-yard butterfly on Friday (2:14.17).
  • The Brewers opened the meet with a strong showing in the 200-yard medley relay, with the team of Jauregui, House, Gao and Ehrenfeld posting a time of 1:39.27.
What's Next
  • Vassar closes out a three-meet homestand on November 9 when it hosts Skidmore.
