POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The #9 Vassar College Men's Volleyball team hosted its first home matches of the season on Saturday afternoon as the Brewers coasted to a 25-18, 25-16, 25-12 sweep of SUNY Potsdam followed by a 25-14, 25-18, 25-17 sweep of Rivier at Kenyon Hall. Vassar improves to 4-1 overall on the season while the Raiders move to 1-1 overall and the Bears are now 1-4 on the season.

FIRST SET
- Vassar took a 8-5 lead in the opening set as sophomore Cannon Tucker buried a kill along with winners from first years Armaan Desai and Enzo Bertini.
- The Brewers increased its lead to 12-6 as Tucker tallied another winner followed by blocks from Desai, Tucker and junior Billy Fan.
- A kill from Duncan Tenhagen cut the lead to 15-11 until kills from sophomore Eli Lee and first year Walter Birmbaum extended the Vassar lead to 19-12.
- An ace from Fan and a set-clinching kill from Bertini took the opening set 25-18.
SECOND SET
- The Brewers opened the second set with an 8-3 advantage as Fan tallied three kills along with two winners from Birnbaum.
- An ace from first year Parker Schoenl pushed the Vassar lead to 13-6 before a block from sophomore Doug Chandler and Lee extended the advantage to 17-9.
- Tenhagen's kill reduced the lead to 18-13 until a block from Bertini and Chandler lead to Vassar's lead growing to 22-14.
- Birnbaum buried another winner to make it 24-15 as the Brewers took the set on a Potsdam service error.
THIRD SET
- Vassar scored the first nine points of the final set as junior Nick Villamil landed two aces along with Lee recording three kills and Chandler tallying two winners.
- Chandler's ace grew the lead to 14-2Â while a block from Zuckerman, Fan and Lee pushed the advantage to 18-6.
- Lee, Chandler and Fan each tallied kills for the final four points for Vassar to earn the three set sweep.
FOR THE BREWERS
- Lee tallied eight kills and five blocks while Birnbaum finished with eight winners to lead Vassar.
- Fan recorded five kills, three blocks and six digs along with four kills each from Bertini and Chandler.
- Villamil registered 12 assists, two aces and five digs while Schoenl added 12 assists and an ace.
- Vassar finished the match hitting .365 with 34 kills on 63 attacks.
FOR THE BEARS
- Tenhagen tallied five kills, two blocks and three digs while Matt Kilinski added five kills and two blocks.
- Darius Dorsey-Rhule added four kills and two digs while Michael Anderson handed out 11 assists.

FIRST SET
- Vassar pushed ahead 5-2 in the early stages following a block from Desai and junior Payne Lounsbery and kills from seniors Colin Jones and Jacob Kim.
- A service ace from Chris Lezon cut the lead to two before a kill from senior Andrew Guaragno and an ace from Desai extended the lead to 11-6.
- Vassar's lead grew to 20-12 on an ace from Lounsbery along with two kills from Desai.
- The Brewers closed the set with four of the final five points as Desai and Jones led the way with a kill each to take the first set.
SECOND SET
- Rivier earned an 8-5 advantage on a winners from Lezon and an ace from Izaviah Hong before Vassar went on a six point run, led by two kills from Gavin Akoto and an ace from senior AJ Erickson.
- Hong's kill trimmed the lead down to two before the Brewers scored seven straight points to earn a 20-11 lead.
- Desai buried a kill to put Vassar ahead 23-13 until Rivier countered with two kills from Racine Camara to get within seven.
- Senior Vaughn Ramsey registered a winner as Vassar took the second set on a Raiders service error.
THIRD SET
- Junior Tobias Clark's kill gave Vassar a 6-3 lead to begin the final set until the Brewers extended the lead to 11-4 following two kills from Ramsey and an ace from Schoenl.
- A triple block from Kim, Desai and Clark put Vassar ahead 16-8 before the Raiders answered to cut the lead to 18-12 on an ace from Sokunbuth Ly.
- Vassar closed the match with a kill from Kim and a solo block from Desai to finish the sweep.
FOR THE BREWERS
- Ramsey tallied a team-high seven kills while Kim recorded six kills, 21 assists, three blocks and six digs.
- Desai registered six winners and five blocks along with Guaragno adding five kills and two blocks.
- Erickson recorded 10 assists and two aces while first year Tucker Shearn lifted a team-best seven digs.
- Vassar finished the match hitting a blistering .525 with 35 kills on 59 attacks.
FOR THE RAIDERS
- Ryan Peace recorded a match-high eight winners while Ly added five kills and four digs.
- Lezon and Camara each tallied four kills as Neil Rea handed out 11 assists and Davin Siharath added nine assists.
