POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Vassar College Men's Volleyball team's winning streak grew to 21 straight matches on Saturday as the Brewers swept #5 Messiah 25-12, 25-21, 25-23 followed by a 25-17, 25-22, 25-22 sweep of Ramapo on Senior Day at Kenyon Hall. The Brewers record at the end of the regular season finishes at 22-1 overall.

The two teams traded points throughout the early stages of the first set as Jacob Hamm's kill tied the set at nine apiece for Messiah. The Brewers tallied seven of the next eight points as a kill each from senior

Jordan Klembczyk to take a 23-11 lead. A. Kim finished the first set with a winner to take the first set.
The Falcons went ahead 9-6 in the second set as a two kills from Ryan Givens put Messiah ahead. An ace from A. Kim tied the set at nine apiece before Gulick, van Beveren and J. Kim each buried winners to go up 14-11. Two more winners from Gulick and a kill each from A. Kim and J. Kim pushed the advantage to 18-13. Messiah drew within two points at 22-20 on a Hamm winner before van Beveren and A. Kim each tallied a kill to earn the second set win.
Vassar took an early 6-3 lead on kills from A. Kim and Gulick in the third set before the Falcons trimmed the lead to 10-8 on two kills from Mason Nissley. Messiah tied the set at 18 on two winners from Nissley and one each from Hamm and Givens. Two kills from Gulick along with one each from Fan and van Beveren pushed the lead to 23-20. Two kills from Givens cut the lead to one before a Messiah service error gave Vassar a three-set victory.
A. Kim tallied 11 kills, two aces, three digs and a block for Vassar while Gulick recorded 10 kills and six digs. van Beveren recorded six kills and a block while J. Kim tallied 26 assists, five kills and four digs. Fan registered three kills and four digs for the Brewers.
Nissley and Givens each buried 10 kills for Messiah while Hamm added nine kills and two blocks. Matt Knab handed out 33 assists and added seven digs while Owen Hanzelman and Conner Stauffer each lifted five digs.

The Brewers went ahead 10-7 in the first set following a kill and an ace from A. Kim along with a winner from Klembczyk. Vassar pushed its lead out to 16-10 following three kills from senior
Joseph Harrington and one winner each from junior
AJ Erickson, van Beveren and A. Kim. The lead grew to 21-13 on a block from Harrington and Klembczyk followed by a winner from Harrington and an ace from Klembczyk to push the lead to 24-14. Andrew Finnegan tallied a kill to cut the lead to 24-17 before a van Beveren winner gave Vassar the first set win.
Freshman
James Zuckerman and junior
Andrew Guaragno each recorded a kill to put Vassar ahead 8-5 before the Brewers pushed the lead to 10-5 after winners from A. Kim and Klembczyk. Ramapo cut the lead down to 14-13 on kills from Finnegan and Reece Kirchofer and took a 18-17 lead after winners from Brendan Edwards and Kirchofer. Vassar regained the advantage on kills from Zuckerman and Erickson before a winner each from A. Kim and Erickson gave Vassar a 25-22 second set win.
Harrington's ace put the Brewers ahead 7-4 in the third set before the lead expanded to 16-9 on two kills each from Zuckerman and Harrington. The Roadrunners cut the lead to 19-16 on winners from Conor Charlow, Edwards and Finnegan before Vassar's lead grew to 24-18 on a block from Zuckerman and Harrington. A kill from Jack DiGirolamo and a block from Charlow trimmed the lead to 24-22 before a Ramapo error gave Vassar a sweep.
Harrington tallied 12 kills, two aces, three blocks and four digs while Klembczyk recorded eight kills, three assists, one ace and nine digs. A. Kim had seven kills while Guaragno added five kills and six digs. Erickson finished with 40 assists, four kills and two digs for Vassar.
Finnegan recorded 14 kills and seven digs while Charlow tallied seven kills, three blocks and four digs. Edwards registered seven kills while Kirchofer tallied five kills and five digs. JoJo Meyer finished 31 assists and 10 digs for Ramapo.
Vassar will host this weekend's UVC Championships with the quarterfinals beginning on Friday at 5:00 p.m. at Kenyon Hall. The Brewers semifinal match will be on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against the winner of Elmira and MIT.
