SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY - The Vassar College Women's Tennis team clinched the top seed in the Liberty League Championship as the Brewers defeated Skidmore 5-4 on the road on Sunday afternoon. The Brewers improve to 11-5 overall and 7-1 in conference play while the Thoroughbreds move to 10-7 overall and 7-1 in league action.

Iris Li opened doubles play with an 8-5 victory for Vassar over Ella Provost and Grace Truong at two while freshman
Erin McCusker and junior
Sofie Shen recorded an 8-6 win against Maya Lal and Chanhtel Thongphok at one. Three saw Konika Dhull and Beilynn Geiss score a 8-7 (7-3) win against senior
Tatum Blalock and sophomore
Elyse Duley.
Freshman
Ananya Krishnan earned a 6-1, 6-2 at six over Geiss followed by Dhull tallying a 6-4, 6-0 victory against Li at five. Katherine Almquist earned a victory via retirement at three while McCusker took a 6-3, 6-1 win at two against Truong. Lal defeated Dowd at the top flight by a 6-2, 6-2 decision before Shen earned a hard-fought 6-3, 5-7, 6-0 win at four to beat Provost.
Vassar will take on the winner of the Union/St. Lawrence matchup on Saturday, April 29th at 8:30 a.m. at the Reis Tennis Center on the campus of Cornell University in the semifinals of the Liberty League Championships.
