GENEVA, NY - The Vassar College Men's Tennis team fell on the road against Hobart on Sunday morning, 7-2, in Liberty League action. The Brewers move to 11-4 and 5-1 in conference play while the Statesmen improve to 12-4 overall and 5-1 in league action.
Freshman duo
Fernando Bauermeister and
Nolan Kubiak earned a 8-4 victory at first doubles over Jeff Wright and Sean Pesin before Harry Lyu and Troy Steiner tallied a 8-4 win over freshmen
Russell Oh and
Miles Sondergaard Jensen at two. Three saw Aidan Staunton and Nick Fischer triumph 8-4 against sophomore
James Balon and
Ethan Mantell.Â
Hyat Oyer tallied a 6-2, 6-4 win at four over sophomore
Arnav Agostinho followed by Fischer winning 6-2, 6-3 at five against Balon. Winter Fagenberg scored a 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 victory against Kubiak at third singles before Mantell earned a strong 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 win at six against Nick Grosso. Pesin tallied a hard-fought 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 victory over Bauermeiser at one and Lyu collected a strong 7-6 (10-8), 6-7 (7-4), 7-10 victory at two against junior
Benjamin Almquist.
Vassar concludes its regular season against Skidmore on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
