THOUSAND OAKS, C.A. - The Vassar College Men's Tennis team recorded a hard-fought 5-4 victory over Cal Lutheran on Tuesday afternoon. The Brewers improve to 5-2 overall while the Kingsmen fall to 1-4 on the season.
Doubles action began with Parker McBride and Aaron Moylan earning a 8-4 victory over sophomore
Arnav Agostinho and freshman
Pedro Cattaruzzi at two. Vassar then picked up two wins at one by rookies
Fernando Bauermeister and
Nolan Kubiak 8-5 over Davel Lossangoye and Jacob de la Paz and then at three with sophomore
James Balon and freshman
Ethan Mantell winning 8-6 over Rainy Wei and Cade Haffner.
Kubiak opened singles action at three with a 6-2, 6-1 win over de la Paz while McBride defeated junior
Benjamin Almquist 6-4, 6-2 at second singles. Balon put together a strong 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 win over Wei at three and then Lossangoye recorded a hard-fought 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) win at the top flight over Bauermeister. Haffner tallied a 6-4, 6-0 triumph over freshman
Russell Oh at six and Mantell collected a 6-1, 6-2 win over Moylan at fifth singles.
The Brewers will travel to take on the University of Redlands on Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m. PST.
