Poughkeepsie, NY – The Vassar College Men's Soccer team featured six student-athletes honored by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) with Academic All-District Honors it was announced on Tuesday. Seniors
Nolan Alexander (New York, NY) and
Owen Fauth (Keene, NH), juniors
Duncan Keker (Oakland, CA) and
Charlie Rodhouse (Carmel Valley, CA) as well as sophomores
Jared Fiske (Livingston, NJ) and
Otis Wildman (Tampa, FL) were all lauded for their work on the field and in the classroom.
Alexander started all 18 games for the Brewers in 2023 and helped to anchor a backline that finished fourth in the conference in goals allowed. Alexander chipped in on the offensive end with a goal and an assist while playing 1,268 minutes for Vassar. Alexander has been named to the Liberty League All-Academic Team four times and collects the first CSC Academic All-District nod of his career.
Fauth, the 2023 Liberty League Player of the Year and First Team All-Liberty League selection, closed a standout career in 2023 with six goals and team-highs in assists with eight and points with 20. Fauth, who was a CSC Academic All-American in 2022 and picks up Academic All-District honors for the second straight season, led the Liberty League in total assists and assists per game and finished the year in a tie for fourth on the single season assists list at Vassar.
Keker, a two-time Liberty League All-Academic Team pick and Second Team All-Liberty League pick in 2023, collects CSC Academic All-District accolades for the first time in his career. Keker led the Brewers with seven goals on the season in 2023 and ranked second on the squad in both assists with three and points with 17. Keker finished the 2023 season tied for third in the Liberty League in total goals.
Rodhouse, a two-time Liberty League All-Academic selection and a 2023 All-Liberty League Honorable Mention pick, is honored as Academic All-District for the first time. Rodhouse led the Brewers in minutes in 2023. Rodhouse played the full 90 minutes in all 18 games, totaling 1,620 minutes while anchoring a Vassar defense that finished the season ranked fourth in the Liberty League in goals allowed.
Fiske, a 2023 Liberty League Honorable Mention selection in 2023, is a Liberty League All-Academic Team and Academic All-District pick for the first time. Fiske appeared in 16 games as a sophomore and finished the year tied for second on the team in goals with six, with half coming as game winners, and third on the team in points with 13. Fiske rounded out the 2023 season tied for the Liberty League lead in game winning goals with three.
Wildman was made a Liberty League All-Academic and Academic All-District pick for the first time in 2023. Wildman appeared in all 18 games as a sophomore and recorded one assist out of the midfield. Wildman made three starts in 2023 and played 552 minutes for the Brewers.
Vassar concluded the 2023 season with an 8-6-4 overall record and a 4-3-2 mark in Liberty League play.
