HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Vassar took a 1-0 lead just before the end of the second half as the Brewers earned a penalty corner and senior Molly Zahnleuter's pass was deflected in by Kovel with 26 seconds remaining in the half.
  • Following a scoreless third quarter, Vassar threatened to double its lead as two shots from senior Tori Baker were turned aside by Brady in the opening five minutes of the fourth period.
  • Union had its best chance to tie the game with one and a half minutes remaining as Megan Dorsey's shot glanced off the post on a penalty corner.
