ITHACA, NY – Powered by a strong singles effort, the Vassar College women's tennis team posted a 5-1 win over Ithaca College in the first match of Saturday's Liberty League Championship Semifinals round at the Reis Tennis Center on the campus of Cornell University.
The top-seeded Brewers move to 16-2 on the season and advance to Sunday's Championship match at 2pm against the winner of the other semifinal between #2 Skidmore and #3 Rensselaer. Sunday's match will mark the 17th time in the last 18 years – not counting the 2019-20 season shutdown by the pandemic – that the Brewers will appear in the title match.

Singles action saw Stavropoulos make it a 3-1 advantage, notching a 6-1, 6-0 win over Davis, while Duley was next off court for the Brewers fourth point, earning a 6-0, 6-0 win over Herz from six.
Match play was decided at three as Shen cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Andrews for the team victory.
