Box Score ITHACA, NY – Powered by three singles victories and a strong doubles effort, the Vassar College men's tennis team posted a 5-1 decision over St. Lawrence University in Liberty League Championship First Round action at the Reis Tennis Center on the campus of Cornell University. The fourth-seeded Brewers are now 10-8 overall, while the fifth-seeded Saints drop to 9-9.
Doubles action got underway with the fifth-seeded Saints opening a 1-0 advantage as the duo of Ben Moolman and Nathan Turtledove recorded an 8-4 victory over Vassar senior captain

Vassar rebounded at two as sophomores

Benjamin Almquist powered past SLU's Broderick Pinto and Adam Heilbronner by an 8-5 score. The Brewers then took a 2-1 lead into singles action as sophomore
Arun Guruswamy and rookie
James Balon defeated Nico Haet and John Hill-Edgar, 8-5 at three.
In singles action, Almquist made it a 3-1 advantage for the Brewers as he won from two with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Moolman. Ivanovic was next off court, earning the win at five over Heilbronner by a 6-0, 6-4 margin. The Brewers then captured the match victory at four as Agostinho posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Edvin Strandberg to sent Vassar to the Liberty League Semifinals.
The Brewers will face top-seeded RPI on Saturday at 8:30am in Semifinal action at the Reis Tennis Center at Cornell University.
