NEW LONDON, CT – It was a come-from-behind victory for the Vassar College men's tennis team, who battled back from being down in singles action to gutting out a 5-4 victory at the United States Coast Guard Academy on Saturday. The victory moves the Brewers to 5-5 overall, while the Bears are now 4-2 on the season.
CGA came out strong in doubles action as Myles Decoste and Sean Dreher combined for a narrow 8-6 win over Vassar senior

Vassar pulled the margin to 2-1 at two as sophomores
Benjamin Almquist and
Jay Wong recorded an 8-1 win over Charles Norman and Lucas Arora.
Singles action saw Wong pull the margin to 2-all with a 6-4, 6-1 win against Evans from one. The Bears got a 6-0, 6-0 win at two as Decoste defeated Yee, followed by a 6-4, 6-4 win at four by Dreher over Agostinho for a 2-4 lead in the match as all three other singles matches were heading into third set action.
Almquist made it a 3-4 match score as he rallied for a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 win against Normal at three, followed by a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win by Ivanovic over Choi at six to tie the match at 4-4. It all came down to Guruswamy vs. Arora at five. The Brewers sophomore trailed by a 2-5 margin in the third set, but battled back to win by a score of 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 and seal the match win for Vassar.
The Brewers return to the court next Sunday (4/3) when they head to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for a 1pm league tilt against the Engineers.
