POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - Four players reached double-figures to lead the Vassar women's basketball team to an 84-33 victory over Bard in Liberty League action on Friday evening. The victory moves the Brewers to 13-6 overall and 12-1 in league play. The Raptors fall to 1-15 amd 0-11 in the Liberty League.
The Brewers capitalized on strong defense through the opening two quarters, holding the visitors to just 12 points for a 46-12 lead at halftime. Third quarter action saw Bard get into a rhythm as senior Christina Kiser added back-to-back shots, while classmate Olivia Couture dropped in a layup and a three-pointer at the 5:15 mark - a run that saw Bard own a 9-4 scoring margin. The Brewers gained momentum at the end of the frame, going on a 7-0 run to end the third. Vassar's bench continued to dominate in the fourth quarter, holding the visitors to just nine points for the final margin.
Junior
Alex Lee led the effort for the Brewers, notching a game-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor and a near perfect 4-for-5 at the three-point arch. She also added seven rebounds with three assists and two steals. Rookie
Tova Gelb came off the bench for 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting, notching eight boards two assists, two blocks and a game-best six steals, while senior captain

Ashley Hansen each recorded 11 points.
Kiser led the way for the Raptors with 17 points, adding two rebounds, an assist and two steals. Couture recorded a double-double with 10 points and a game-best 10 rebounds, while senior Bri Alphonso-Gibbs recorded a team-high three steals.
Vassar returns to the court on Saturday when it hosts Rensselaer at 2pm at AFC Gym. Bard heads to Union for a 2pm league tilt in Schenectady tomorrow.
