ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Vassar College Women's Volleyball team fell in the Liberty League first round 22-25, 11-25, 21-25 on the road against fourth-seeded RIT on Tuesday evening. Sophomore
Hailey Hayes (Canyon Lake, TX) tallied 10 kills on the night as Vassar's season concludes at 4-21 overall and the Tigers advance to take on top-seeded Ithaca on Friday evening.

Julia Hale (Hillsborough, CA) got Vassar on the board first as she buried a kill followed by a double block from Hale and freshman
Melia Voss (Marietta, GA) to make it 2-2 early on. RIT gained an advantage in the middle of the set as a block from Calista Gasper and Sydney Neff gave the Tigers a 6-12 lead.
The Brewers cut the lead down to two at 14-16 after sophomore
Frannie Anthony-Brumfield (Hanover, VA) buried a winner after a service ace from senior
Kaitlin Birnbaum (La Jolla, CA). Vassar knotted the match up at 19 after Hayes landed a service ace but RIT recorded five straight points to push the set to set point. Two RIT errors and a block from freshman
Rebecca Gutierrez (Oak Park, IL) and Voss cut the lead to two but RIT's Grace Phelan landed a kill to take the set.
Vassar took an early 4-3 lead in the second set on a Gutierrez kill until the Tigers scored four straight to gain a three point advantage. Two kills from Hayes and one from Gutierrez kept the RIT lead at 9-13 until the Tigers scored eight of the next nine points to run its lead up to 10-21. RIT earned the second set victory after an ace from Phelan.
The Brewers and Tigers went back and forth through the majority of the third set as Vassar took a 12-11 lead following back to back blocks from Voss and Gutierrez. RIT took a 15-17 lead on a Gasper kill but Hayes countered quickly with a winner of her own to bring the advantage back to one.
A kill from Liv Benard and a Brewers error gave the Tigers a 17-22 lead before the Brewers scored three straight, capped by a block from freshman
Molly Delahunty (Newton, MA). RIT scored three of the final four points as Benard buried another kill to give the Tigers a 3-0 match victory.
Hayes finished the match with a team-high 10 kills and a team-high eight digs for Vassar as Gutierrez added seven kills and four blocks. Voss handed out a team-high 24 assists and had a team-high five blocks. Freshman
Noa McCrane (Los Angeles, CA) added seven digs.
Benard led the way for the Tigers with game-highs in kills with 14 and digs with 11. Phelan added six kills, two aces and three blocks as Neff handed out a match-high 38 assists and added two blocks and five digs.
