ITHACA, N.Y. - The seventh-ranked Bombers used a nine-goal second half and solid defense to power their way to a 19-9 victory over Vassar in the Liberty League women's lacrosse regular season finale for both teams. Ithaca moves to 11-0 overall and 8-0 in league play, clinching the top-seed in the upcoming Liberty League Tournament with yesterday's victory in Poughkeepsie. The Brewers conclude the regular season at 2-4 and 2-3 in conference action.
It was another tight game to open the contest as the Bombers opened up a 2-0 advantage behind a pair of scores from yesterday's leading scorer, Jacqui Hallack. The Brewers bounced back at 23:06 as sophomore
Kateri Sanseviro scored on the free position, but Hallack countered to regain the two-goal edge (3-1) minutes later.

Ithaca regained the momentum less than a minute later, firing off three straight goals in a one-minute span to pull back to a 7-5 advantage behind tallies from Alex Rabb, Megan Motkowski and Caroline Grant.
Back-to-back goals from Fable, along with one from Porette tipped the scales to an 8-7 favor for the visitors with 7:02 to play, but the Bombers took advantage over the final 6:39 as Madison Boutureira notched two of the three goals scored for a 10-8 edge at halftime.
Second half opener belonged to the Bombers as they posted eight unanswered to open the stanza. Hallack added a pair, along with two from Indira Varma for an 18-8 margin with 8:13 left on the clock.
Kretten found the back of the net for her second of the contest, but Ithaca added a final tally at 4:17 to close out the game's scoring.
Fable led the Brewers with three goals, adding four draw controls, while Porette had two goals, a helper, two ground balls, a caused turnover and another match-high seven draw controls. Senior
Kaela Parentis notched three assists. In goal, rookie
Lauren Johns led the squad with three ground balls, also stopping 14 shots over 53:19 of action. Junior
Jackie Molloy came on for the final 6:41 of relief, stopping two shots.
Ithaca was paced once again by Hallack with five goals. She also recorded five ground balls, a caused turnover and six draw controls. Motkowski added three goals and two assist, while Caroline Grant also had three tallies and two helpers. Boutureira posted three goals, while Rachel Rosenberg had a game-best four caused turnovers.In goal, Mackenzie Schade earned the win with seven stops.
