Box Score SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Powered by a doubles sweep and five of six victories in singles action, the Vassar men's tennis team boasted an 8-1 win at Union College in Liberty League action on Saturday afternoon. The victory moves the Brewers to 4-0 on the season (4-0 LL). The Dutchmen are now 2-3 overall (2-3 LL).

Arun Guruswamy picked up the Brewers first point of the afternoon, besting Union's Cameron Klepper and Aidan O'Brien by an 8-0 margin.
Point two came in second doubles as rookie
Jay Wong and
Benjamin Almquist partnered for an 8-1 win over the Dutchmen's Austin Egna and Max Egna. The Brewers posted the doubles sweep from one as seniors
David Gandham and
Adam Krueger defeated David Bond and Nick Weitzman, 8-3.
In singles action, Union grabbed it's lone point off the bat as Klepper defeated senior
Nicolas Demaria by a 6-2, 6-1 margin from six. Vassar got back on track from that point, beginning with the fourth flight as Krueger bested Tommy McGuire, 6-4, 6-3 to make it a 4-1 score.
The match was secured at two as Wong defeated O'Brien, 6-4, 6-3, while Almquist pushed the score to 6-1 with a win over Austin Egna at three, 6-4, 6-0. Ivanovic garnered point number seven from five, recording a 6-3, 6-4 win against Bailey McAtee.
In the final match on court, it proved to be a hard-fought battle. From one, Gandham battled against Ioannis Binopoulos, gutting out a 7-5, 7-5 score for the win and the match conclusion.
Vassar returns to action next Saturday when it travels to Skidmore for a 2pm contest against the Thoroughbreds. Union is also in action next weekend, traveling to RPI.
