Men's Tennis Wraps-Up Action at ITA Northeast Regionals

Almquist competes in Round of 16 on day two

GENEVA, NY - The Vassar men's tennis team concluded action at the 2021 ITA Northeast Regional Tournament on Saturday as two student-athletes took to the court.

The Brewers were paced by sophomore Benjamin Almquist, who played in the Round of 16 to open the day of action after two wins in Friday's opener. Almquist faced-off against RPI's Aidan Drover-Mattinen, who is the top-seed in this year's tournament, but ultimately fell in a hard-fought effort of 6-4, 6-1.

Rookie James Balon also competed on Saturday, taking part in the consolation matches against New Jersey City University's Alejandro Ley. He shouldered a tough 8-3 loss to Ley to wrap up his weekend.

Vassar concludes its fall slate with the ITA Regional action. The Brewers will return to the courts in February 2022.
