POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Junior Ayden Gann (Narrowsburg, NY) has been named CoSIDA Men's Track & Field/ Cross Country Academic All-District First Team. The 2020 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom.
A physics major, Gann collected a 3.67 cumulative GPA while being a member of the Vassar cross country and track and field teams. While the 2020 outdoor season was canceled, in 2019, he qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships in the 800-meter race, placing 11th overall with a time of 1:52.2. He was also USTFCCCA All-Region and was the 800 individual Liberty League Champion in 2019 and 2018. Gann ran his career-best 800 at 1:52.1 at the 2019 Army West Point Twilight Meet.
Academically, Gann was named USTCCCA All-Academic in 2019 and earned Liberty League All-Academic honors as a sophomore and junior.
Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced from June 22-25.
