POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Following a 71-53 win over Skidmore on Tuesday night, the Vassar women's basketball team heads to Ithaca, NY for the Liberty League Semifinals. The third-seeded Brewers face second-seed RIT at 2:30 p.m. at the Ben Light Gymnasium on Sat. Feb. 23.
 
The teams split the regular season meeting with the Tigers (19-6, 14-4 Liberty) snapping the 16-game Vassar (21-5, 14-4 Liberty) winning streak in their last meeting on Feb. 8. 
 
Juniors 
Isa Peczuh (Willington, CT) and 
Sophie Nick (Denver, CO) accounted for 47 points last time out, and the Brewers shot 60 percent from the field. Peczuh scored a game-high 26 points and tied the Vassar record with eight three-pointers. 
Natalie Pettirossi (Weston, MA) had a career-high 10 points and led the team with eight rebounds. 
Ryan DeOrio (Collegeville, PA) dished out a career-high seven assists.
 
Coming into Saturday, Vassar averages 68.6 points a game and lead the league in field goal percentage (43.5), three-point percentage (34.5) and free throw percentage (72.7). The Brewers average 41.7 rebounds a contest and the defense allows 58.1 points a game. Nick leads the Brewers with 15.7 points and 9.4 rebounds a game. Peczuh averages 13.0 points, while DeOrio adds 9.2 a contest.
 
The Tigers received a first-round bye and closed the regular season with wins against Union and Bard and are on an 11-game winning streak. They enter the tournament averaging 67.6 points a game behind scoring from Sabrina Wolfe (15.6 ppg), Tara Lynch (13.0 ppg) and Brooke Stanley (12.3 ppg). The Tigers lead the league in assists, averaging 16.2.
 
The winner of this game will play either Ithaca or William Smith in the championship game on Sunday. That game would start at 12 p.m.
