Vassar Concludes Play at ITA Northeast Regionals

GENEVA, N.Y. – The Vassar College men's tennis team concluded play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championships on Saturday.  Allen Sokolov (Woodland Hills, CA) and Jeremy Auh (Scottsdale, AZ) reached the quarterfinals of the doubles draw, while David Gandham (Ann Arbor, MI) was in action in the singles round of 16.

Sokolov and Auh began the day with an 8-6 victory over TCNJ's Matthew Michibata and Tim Gavornik.  They were then eliminated by the top-seeded pair, RPI's Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez and Andrew Imrie, 8-3, in the quarterfinals.

Mathew Yee (Sha Tin, Hong Kong) and Adam Krueger (Bay Village, OH) also won their doubles match on Friday to advance to Saturday's round of 16, where they fell to NYU's Vishal Walia and Michael Li, the No. 6 seeds, by a score of 8-5.  Meanwhile, Gandham, the No. 11 singles seed, dropped his round of 16 match, 6-0, 6-0 to Hobart's Alan Dubrovsky.

This weekend's ITA Regionals closed out Vassar's fall season.  The Brewers will resume their schedule in February.
