POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - Both Vassar Rugby teams take to the road this weekend with the women traveling to Troy, NY on Saturday where they will face Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) at 1 p.m. On Sunday the Vassar Men open their fall 2018 season at Monroe College in New Rochelle, NY and that game kicks-off at 3 p.m.
The Vassar Women will be looking to continue winning ways after a season opener that saw a win over SUNY-New Paltz. The team has only one change on account of a shoulder injury to
Ilona Neale. She is replaced by Aislinn Vinces Dimas on the right wing. There is a question mark about
Kate Sworden as she took a knock to her shoulder last week and that decision will be made tomorrow. In any event the bench is ready willing and able should she not play.
Vassar's Men will be keen to play this their first game after all the practices of preseason. The back division will be marshaled by flyhalf
Nate Cuson and he'll have
Evan Roberts servicing him from the number 9 position. Outside center
Stephen Kpundeh will want to get his hands on the ball and there is some good pace at the back with
James Christensen at 15.
The forwards have a solid front row but they'll need to work hard all game to ensure their set piece. The backrow sees
Rob Eder join up with
Christopher Duncan and
Kushin Mukherjee and they will need to make their tackles.
Here are the
field locations for this weekend:
Sunday 3:00 pm
Men v Monroe at 491 5th Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10801
Saturday 1:00 pm
Women v RPI at Anderson Field, Sage Avenue, Troy, NY 12180
