POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.  – The Vassar men's soccer team begins its post-season starting tomorrow; opening against Hobart at 4 p.m. Last season, the Brewers reached the championship game, but fell to the Statesmen, 2-0.

Vassar (9-6, 5-4 Liberty) is coming off a tough loss to Ithaca, but placed fifth in the conference. Hobart (7-7-2, 5-3-1 Liberty) lost to St. Lawrence to close the regular season. The Brewers shutout the Statesmen on Oct. 20 and scored twice in the eventual win.

Mattie Mrlik (San Francisco, CA) and
Henrik Olsson (Tokyo, Japan) lead the Vassar offense. Mrlik has 13 points (four goals, five assists), while Olsson accounts for seven points (three goals, one assist). Four Brewers had recorded six points in
Jonathan Bow (San Francisco, CA),
Tyler Gilmore (Coronado, CA),
Quinn Tunnell (Hersey, PA) and
Kevin Baliat (Eldoret, Kenya).

Will Marment (Stamford, CT) has 12 games in net and has recorded six shutouts this season, which ties for second in the league. He is 7-5-0 with a .96 goals against average and a .786 save percentage.

The Statesmen feature a balanced offense with Kyle Mangold leading with eight points (four goals). Tristan Cornell Roberts accounts for seven points (three goals, one assist) and Pete Critchlow tallied six (one goal, four assists). Alec Kaminer has started 15 games in net with a .85 goals against average. He is fourth in the conference with 62 saves.
