ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Vassar College men's swimming & diving team recorded its first win of the season on Friday night, defeating Bard by an 81-61 count at the Stevenson Athletic Center Pool.
Harrison Taylor (Wyandanch, NY) won two events to pace the Brewers in the victory.
Taylor took first in the 200 yard individual medley in a time of 2:11.55, and he also led a Vassar sweep in the 100 butterfly. His winning time was 56.16 seconds, while
Jordan Kalina (Palatine, IL) finished second in 58.85 seconds.
Max White (Green Bay, WI), meanwhile, earned the victory in the 1000 yard freestyle, finishing in 10:14.00. In the 50 freestyle,
Nikolas Pham (Lancaster, PA) (23.00) and
Brandon Li (Whippany, NJ) (23.33) had a 1-2 showing. They also joined with White and
Jake Mier (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) to take first in the 200 medley relay. The quartet notched a time of 1:43.16.
Vassar returns to Kresge Pool for each of its next two meets, starting with a 1 p.m. matchup against Skidmore on Saturday, Nov. 3.
