POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (May 4, 2017) – The Vassar Men's Tennis team will travel to Ithaca, NY to compete against Skidmore College in the Liberty League Championships.  After not competing in the 2016 Liberty League Championships for the first time in program history, the Brewers will look to come into the tournament swinging.

Last Time Out:  The Brewers sustained a heartbreaking loss on Saturday to Hobart College, placing them in the No. 4 spot in the Liberty League tournament.  While leading early, Vassar fell to 4-5 during the singles competition.  Hobart thus moved to the No. 2 spot in the conference.
 
A Look at the Brewers (11-9, 4-3 Liberty League):
 

• The Brewers usually show their strength in their singles performances, winning 28 out of the 42 conference matches.  This leaves them with a .667 win percentage.

• Senior captain Nick Litsky continues to stun in the No. 1 singles spot, earning yet another Liberty League honor as Singles Performer of the Week.  Litksy has won 18 total matches in this position, the most of any Brewer, falling only to ranked opponents.
• Litsky and Nick Zuczek have proved to be productive as a doubles pairing, winning 6 matches together.
• Jamie Anderson and Juan Felipe Laso also are a dynamic set, winning two important matchups in the conference season.
• Though Skidmore beat the Brewers 9-0 in season play, Vassar's tenacity and grit demonstrated through the season will test the Thoroughbreds' deep roster.

• No stranger to Liberty League tournaments, holding the No. 1 spot in the conference for the past five years.
• Uncontested in the conference in season play, Skidmore holds the No. 10 spot in the Northeast Regional Ranking and touts a No. 25 national ranking.
• Kai Yuen Leung is first in the conference in No. 1 singles with a  .800 win percentage. His pairing with John Wynne also sits at first in the No. 1 doubles position with a .833 win percentage. 
• Steven Koulouris also proves to be a force for Skidmore, winning 8 of his matches in the No. 2 position while dominating with Lucas Pickering in No. 2 doubles with 5 conference match successes.
• Skidmore is a clear display of discipline and composure on the court, yet has fallen during all four neutral location games.
