POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (November 1, 2017) – The Vassar women's soccer team is set and ready to take on the Rochester Institute of Technology in the Liberty League Semifinals. The Brewers and the Tigers will travel to Geneva, NY to kickoff what should be an exciting weekend of soccer. The Tigers knocked off the Golden Knights of Clarkson University to advance to this position, while the Brewers are riding a solid 5-3-1 conference record into the match, and thus coming off a first round bye.

A Look At The Brewers (9-5-3, 5-3-1 Liberty League)

• The Brewers are coming off of a heartbreaking loss to Ithaca. The Bombers scored a goal in the waning minutes of the match, to steal a victory from Vassar.
• Freshman Goalkeeper Fiona Walsh has been a star for the Brewers, starting every match this season with 97 saves.
• Junior Emma Lavelle has been a sturdy piece for the Brewers as she's started every match and has racked up 1500 minutes on the year.
• Freshman Ashley Ferry has been a great addition to the Brewers, leading the team in goals on the season with 8.
• The Brewers have been a high scoring bunch with 34 goals this season, third in the Liberty League.
• Senior Amanda McFarland hopes to keep her late game heroics with 3 game-winning goals on the season, second most in the Liberty League.
• Walsh has six shutout this season which ranks third in the conference.
• Junior Audrey Pillsbury looks to continue her aggressive attack with 35 shots this season.
• Freshman Ashley Ferry is third in the Liberty League with 22 points.

 
A Look At The Tigers (12-3-3, 4-2-3 Liberty League)

• The Tigers are coming off of a 1-0 win over Clarkson in the Liberty League Quarterfinals.
• Junior Emily Thiel leads her team in both points (13) and assists (9), with the latter placing her first in the league for assists.
• Kelly Rogers has been strong in goal for the Tigers with a .845 Save Percentage, which is fourth in the league.
• Riley Yankowich is looking for her sixth goal of the season entering this game, as she leads her team in goals with 5.
•  The Tigers have looked consistent in both periods, scoring 12 goals in each period through the entire season.
• The Tigers have a deep bench with 17 players starting in at least one game and having every player on the roster see the field.

Against RIT All-Time: The Brewers are 5-4-3 all time against the Tigers. They met the Tigers earlier this season in conference play which resulted in a double overtime 1-1 tie.  
 
A Look At the Tournament Field: If Vassar wins their Liberty League Semifinal match against RIT, they will advance to the championship game on Sunday to face the winner of William Smith and St. Lawrence.

A Look At The Herons (15-1, 9-0 Liberty League)

• Evie Manning is the Herons offensive go-to player. She leads her team in points (27), goals (11), shots (53), shots on goal (30), and game winning goals (4).
• Manning also leads the league in goals and points.
• Megan Barwick follows right behind Manning in the stat book, except in assists where she leads the team with 6.
•  Veronica Romines has started all 16 games in goal for the Herons, tallying up 24 saves.
• The Herons lead the league in goals per game with 2.563.

A Look At The Saints (11-6, 5-4 Liberty League)

• Julia Mulhern leads the saints in goals with 8, which places her fourth in the league.
• Kaleigh White and Emily Wade are selfless with the ball, both leading the team with 5 assists apiece.
• Samantha Allen is third in the league for saves with 77.
• The Saints have a solid starting line up with 7 players who have started all 17 games.
• The Saints lead the league in both points (123) and points per game (7.24).
