POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (October 2, 2017) –The Vassar women's soccer team plays their final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. against Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.

A Look At The Brewers (6-2-2, 2-0-1 Liberty League)
  • The Brewers were able to shut out yet another Liberty League rival Union College after falling to them the previous year 3-2.
  • Sophomore Savannah Cutler continues to make a huge impact for the Brewers, scoring the game winning goal against Union this past Saturday.
  • Junior Sara Seper scored her first goal of the season this past weekend with a rocket from outside of the box.
  • Freshmen Ally Thayer and Ashley Ferry remain strong up top, creating a lot of the offense with a combined 50 shots on goal this season.
  • Seniors Carolina Alvarez and Amanda McFarland set a model example for the team, as both of them add a strong presence on the defensive and offensive ends of the field.
  • Junior Emma Lavelle is stellar in the back line, racking in 850 minutes, right behind Fiona Walsh.
  • Freshmen Fiona Walsh earned her fourth shutout of the year and is a standout player for the Brewers.
  • Walsh currently has an impressive gave percentage of 0.873 and a goals against average of 0.77.
  • Walsh also earned Liberty League honors for her fantastic play and impressive skills in net.
 
A Look At The Duck's (7-1-1, 3-0 Empire 8)
  • The Ducks have had an impressive season thus far, as they currently own a win streak of seven games and have not yet lost at home.
  • Gabby Saade leads the Stevens attack with six goals, two assists, 26 shots on goal and 14 points total.
  • Julia Panko also plays a dominant role on offense with five goals and four assists, totaling 14 points as well.
  • Panko also leads the team with a notable 42 shots on net in nine games of play.
  • The Ducks have seven players who have scored goals and eight players who have also assisted, showing depth among the team's attack.
  • Goalkeeper Lindsey Mahnken has an incredibly impressive goals against average of 0.33 and a save percentage of 0.903.
  • The Ducks have also had an abundant amount of corner kicks, totaling 65 thus far.
 
Against Union All-Time: The Brewers are 3-9-0 all time against the Ducks. The last three years have resulted in three losses for the Brewers, but all were close games of only one or two goal differentials.

Up Next: The Brewers will travel to Saratoga Springs, New York for a conference match against the Thoroughbreds of Skidmore College on October 7th at 3:00 p.m.
