POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (October 17, 2017) – The Vassar women's volleyball Team heads to Clarkson University and St. Lawrence University for the first time in three years. This is the final weekend of regular season Liberty League action. This weekend's results will determine the standings for the Liberty League Tournament, as Skidmore and St. Lawrence battle for a spot, while Ithaca, Vassar, and Clarkson battle to host.

Last Time Out: The Brewers are coming off a big weekend in Rochester, playing regionally strong teams, and picking up victories over all three. Junior outside
Devan Gallagher was named to the All-Tournament Team (and Liberty League Honor Roll), posting 52 kills (4.64/set), while adding 33 digs and 7 blocks. With these victories, the Brewers extended their win streak to 12.
A Look at The Brewers (20-3, 5-0 LL):
- The Brewers posted their 1,000th team kill over the weekend this season, and combined for a .235 percentage and 12.8 kills/set.
- VC leads the conference in hitting percentage and kills/set.
- Junior Devan Gallagher ranks 3rd in division III in kills/set, with 4.86. McLeod joins her in the top-2 among the league, adding 3.52 kills/set.
- Annie MacMillan registered her 2,500th career assist this weekend, and has 853 this season. She is averaging 10.8 assists/set, which places her 8th in the nation.
- The Brewers continue to be strong from the service line, posting 15 aces against Geneseo last weekend. As a squad, the team is posting 2.8 aces/set (221 total), lead by Annie MacMillan (.7/set, 55 total) and Lauren Ninkovich (.42/set, 32 total).
- Middle blockers Colette Cambey and Jenny Kerbs have combined for 101 rejections this season, ranking 6th and 8th in the Liberty League, respectively.
- The defense remains steadily balanced, with six Brewers posting at least 100 digs. VC is led by freshman libero Anna Zucchero (246, 3.62/set) and junior outside Devan Gallagher (262, 3.36/set).
A Look at the Saints (15-10, 2-3 LL)
- St. Lawrence recently returned from an intense weekend of competition in Illinois. The squad went 0-3 on the weekend, facing Carroll University, Bethel University and Central College.
- Senior outside Masha Kolesnikova recently put down her 1,000th termination, placing her fifth in the Saints All-Time Records.
- This is a critical weekend for the Saints as victories are crucial to extend their season to the Liberty League conference tournament. St. Lawrence and Skidmore are battling for the fourth spot in the tournament.
- St. Lawrence is hitting an impressive .218 on the season, second-best in the conference. The Saints are paced by Amanda Teppo and Julia Wagner, hitting .311 and .296, respectively.
- This duo also ranks among the best in the league in blocking, Teppo (42 blocks, .82 blocks/set) and Wagner (60 blocks, .67 blocks/set). As a squad, St. Lawrence leads the Liberty League with 1.83 blocks/set.
- Kolesnikova is tied with Vassar's MacMillan for first in aces/set (.70).
A Look at the Golden Knights (13-7, 4-1 LL)
- Clarkson is coming off a huge weekend in Pennsylvania. The squad picked up three strong victories against DeSales, Gettysburg, and Muhlenberg.
- Sophomore middle blocker Rachel Reusch was named Liberty League Performer of the Week after an impressive weekend (48 kills, .328 percentage, 45 digs, 7 blocks). She ranks third in the Liberty League in hitting percentage (.311).
- Rachel Aird is the other go-to, adding 225 terminations to date (.265 percentage/3.04 kills per set).
- The Rachel duo posts 1.5 blocks per set, and has totaled 113 total blocks.
- Clarkson relies heavily on their strong defense (19.35 digs/set), which holds their opponents to a .147 hitting percentage. Clarkson ranks 12th nationally in team digs/set.
- Sophomore libero Kate Isaksen is averaging an astonishing 6.57 digs/set, ranking third in the NCAA this season. With 487 total digs, she ranks 20th overall.
- This match against Vassar is critical for determining who will host the conference Championships. Should Clarkson win, Ithaca, Clarkson, and Vassar will all be 1-1 against each other.
Against the Opponents All-TIme: Facing St. Lawrence, the Brewers are 20-8 all time. Last season, VC took both contests, the Saints taking one set of each match. Against Clarkson, Vassar is 13-16 all-time. The two teams battled three times in 2016, the Brewers taking the first two contests before falling in the Liberty League Finals to the Golden Knights.
Up Next: The Brewers are back next Wednesday for the annual Hudson River rivalry contest with the Hawks of New Paltz. The game is scheduled to take place October 25 at 7 p.m. in Kenyon Hall.
